Why did we build A-Line?

Abortion activists and providers are facing threats of content suppression, digital surveillance, cyber-attacks, doxxing, and even website censorship. Online abortion information is pushed to the margins or disappearing altogether, silencing activists and cutting people’s access to abortion services and accurate information.
As a project of Women on Web (WoW), the A-Line leverages our team’s unique experience and expertise navigating similar threats since WoW’s launch in 2005. As a global online abortion service, we have confronted censorship, social media suppression and cyberattacks, and developed strategies, tactics, advocacy and global partnerships at the nexus of reproductive justice and digital rights.
Our Partners
The A-line is proud to partner with eQualitie, a non-profit that provides secure website hosting from Canada, provides tools that counter cyberattacks, protects online voices from surveillance, and develops technologies that promote digital resilience from civil society.
